Hi Everyone,

Jesse and I just had a delicious, healthy smoothie for a snack. It’s green so I called mine the She Hulk Smoothie, and Jesse got a Green Lantern Smoothie (as you can see by his cup below).

So does it have enough nutrients for a superhero?
Per Serving (recipe makes 2):
Calories: 186
Carbs: 26 g.
Fat: 7 g.
Protein: 10 g.
Fiber: 5 g.

If you are really thirsty you can drink the entire thing by yourself, and get double the protein and nutrients.

Ingredients:
1 Whole Peeled/Sliced Frozen Banana
4 Cups of Raw Fresh Baby Spinach
1 Tablespoon Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter (I used Creamy)
1/2 cup 0% Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Cup Almond Milk (I used the 40 calorie unsweetened original, vanilla would be good too)
1 Kiwi Peeled and Sliced

I added one packet of Stevia in the Raw to Jesse’s smoothie, but I liked mine without the extra sweetener. To make it a bit sweeter you can use Vanilla yogurt and/or vanilla almond milk.

Add all of the ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth, and enjoy!
Melissa

I love green smoothies….my meal 2 has been:
    1 C almond milk
    1 scoop bokusuper protein powder
1-2 C baby spinach leaves raw
    1/2 small frozen banana
    1 small peach
grated ginger & lemon zest (optional)
    ice

  2. I do a similar one, but use kale instead of spinach, and add ice. I’ve only used banana’s in mine, so I’ll have to try it with different fruits added. It’s pretty tasty, and makes for a great breakfast in the mornings 🙂

  3. My green smoothie is my daily breakfast!! It keeps me powered up during my high-intensity job all morning long! My basic recipe is water/almond milk; tbsp chia seeds, few handfuls spinach, scoop protein powder (choc or vanilla depending on my flavor combo!), and frozen fruit!! I usually either do chocolate powder with frozen straw/blueberries or vanilla w/frozen mango/pineapple.. nice to know I’m getting a few servings of veggies, fruit, fiber, and protein in my morning meal!

I didn’t have yogurt and kiwi so I did:

    1 whole frozen banana
    4 cups raw spinach
1 tbsp. of Great Value All Natural PB (creamy)
1 cup 8th continent soymilk (original- already has a vanilla flavor to it)
    1 lemon and its zest
    a pinch of cinnamon
1 whole orange for vitamin C

Turned out really good! Im starting to drink this as my breakfast 🙂

Can I replace the spinach with lettuce or another green? I’m only asking because my husband has kidney stones and was told to avoid certain foods because of the high amounts of oxalate which is what was in his stones. One of those items on the list is spinach unfortunately 🙁 Any advice would be helpful. I love your workouts and all of the content you give us to use towards our everyday loves!

I haven’t tried lettuce, but Kale is a good replacement. It does have oxalate, but not at the same level as spinach. It’s worth giving another green a try!
